SCHOOL
IMPROVEMENT PLAN SY 2006-2007 to SY 2010-2011 SECONDARY
I. INTRODUCTION
Balara High School will nurture the five-year plan with new ways
of things and learning. Both the thinking skills and learning
processes will equal the opportunities and the challenges of the
new technology. The teachers will probably meet difficulties in
adjusting to the different needs of the students. But their
rewards will be worth their efforts. We will bring home awards
from the different contests in the district, division, region,
and national levels as well. The administration and teachers
will try to bring our individual geniuses in each student. We
will not limit to the linguistic, scientific, logical, and
mathematical skills but to the other multiple-intelligence. We
will cater varied activities in order to develop the musical,
dancing, and singing abilities of the students. Drawing,
painting, graphic drawing will be undertaken by every department
sponsoring inter-school contest. All bodily kinesthetic will be
integrated in tennis, swimming, ball games, and other track and
field events. Students with interpersonal learning will be
encouraged to have leadership roles in campus politics and
co-curricular activities. Thus, the learning will constitute a
holistic understanding of the educational system for the coming
years. The school approaches to cope with the Revised Basic
Education Curriculum demand of integrated curriculum and
interactive teaching. |
II. SCHOOL CONTEXT
COMMUNITY PROFILE
The Barangay Pansol
Barangay Pansol is a segmented estate for a reason that part of
it is La Vista, one is near Loyola Grand Villa, the Kaingin I
and II, then the Filtration compound and the Barangay proper
which is at the heart of Pansol. It is a parcel of land that
spread within the vicinity of Universities like Ateneo, Miriam
and University of the Philippines. In the early years, (1940’s)
there were only handful of families and houses numbering only to
5 or 10, then it grows to 100, and now it multiplies to
thousands of families most of which, were migrants from other
places. There had been seven Barangay captains, the present one
is a graduate of Balara High School, the multi-talented Mr.
Dominic P. Flores who attends well to the needs of the people
and of the Barangay. As everyone can see, Barangay Pansol has a
well-lighted streets that make the town folks sage and secured
files, and beaming ornamental plants that add colors to its
site. |

5. SPECIAL
PROGRAMS
Feeding
Program
The feeding program provides a
study underlying the use of height and weight measurements. The status
of malnutrition is an important concern of the country. Overweight and
obesity are also prevalent in the country affecting a significant
proportion of children, adolescents and adults, which predisposes them
to certain nutrition and health risks. Food supply, its distribution
and consumption by the populace adds a consequent impact on nutritional
status.
The
feeding program begins in the diagnosis thru weight and height scale of
students and administering the program to those who are found
underweight and undernourished.
The
students covered by this program are briefed of its importance which is
done with the guidance and help of special teachers.
This program is implemented with care, service
and guidance to the students.
The ultimate goal will serve as an awareness of
proper nutrition which will in turn leads to good health thus, enhancing
their studies and vision for a brighter future ahead.
